Yawning is Contagious, 2012

It is a well know myth that yawning is contagious.


We see somebody yawn and we want to follow.

I thought I would investigate this by doing a photographic series of people yawning.
These portrait sitters were all told to stay up late - I wanted real yawns - not acted ones.
I warmed the studio up, it was a cold day outside.

The shoot was deliberately slow and non eventful, and quite.

I was going to make these people yawn for real.
